Jackson has followed classical music around the world, including trips to two of the world's major music festivals. In July 2014, Jackson attended the Aspen Music Festival where he enjoyed terrific concerts by more than a dozen major names in classical music. The summer before in June 2013, Jackson attended the BachFest Leipzig where he had the chance to hear the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries in amazing venues across Bach's own city. There have also been many shorter trips to closer locales in the quest to hear great music. Aspen Music Festival – July 1 to 10, 2014
For two weeks classical music and mountains surrounded me. For two weeks I was nowhere else but Aspen, Colorado for the Aspen Music Festival, one of the world’s leading classical music festivals. BachFest Leipzig – June 14 to 23, 2013
In June 2013, I travelled with the Bach Society Houston to Leipzig, Germany for the annual BachFest. That year's theme "Vita Christi" emphasized Bach's largescale choral works, and many of the concerts were held in Leipzig venues Bach himself would have known. We also had the chance to explore surrounding cities like Dresden, Weimar, and Eisenach – the town where Bach was born. Click the link below to read all about this amazing journey as later recounted in December 2015.
